Vodka or Champagne?

by Chikashi

Globules covered in an oily film.  I think of chilled vodka and wonder if there is a loaf of white bread in the kitchen for a few slices of toast.

However, the globules reflect light in a different manner.  They did not come from the Caspian Sea and are a little too big at 3/16″ diameter.  I was clutching a bottle of degreasing solvent instead of vodka, a bunch of cotton buds instead of a mother-of-pearl spoon.

I had to clean and re-pack the hub of my front wheel with a new set of bearing balls from the local bike shop.  It is a messy procedure to be sure, but it somehow calms the mind.
