A Stool for Cycling Geeks?
by Chikashi Miyamoto
De Flandrien is the brasserie at the Tour of Flanders Centre (Centrum Ronde van Vlaanderen) where you can usually spot Freddy Maertens walking around to see if everything is in order. They have about half a dozen stools at the bar, 2 of which are capped with a Brooks B190 saddle. A touch reminiscent of Marcel Duchamp’s Readymades?
A few months ago, my friend Jason was getting all excited about possible climbs to include in our next Alps ride, and he said something about wanting to wear bib shorts whilst sitting in his office and staring at photos of various cols. (I admit that I have strange friends. I do have a few, relatively normal friends as well.)
This might be a suitable office furniture for Jason. The saddle angle may need a bit of adjustment, however.
